Michael Schmidt opened his first brokerage office 25 years ago in Hamburg. This grew to become Germany’s foremost yacht brokers, a position it still holds today.

His brokerage grew to create a network spreading across Europe and in 1992, having been Westerly’s agent in Germany, he took over the Westerly’s yacht brokerage in Hamble and created the UK Michael Schmidt & Partner Yacht Brokerage.

Now concentrating on these concerns he has passed on the UK Michael Schmidt & Partner Yacht brokerage to the owners and management team here in the UK. A team with years of experience, dating back to the hey days of British yacht manufacturing.

We have seen a lot of changes in the sailing scene and have grown with them; we are brokers who really understand what comprises good sound boats and the niche they sit in.
