Boat Details

The Westerly 33 is a purposeful safe sturdy cruising yacht. Centre cockpit and ketched rigged. She is ideally suited to family cruising or long-range cruising with a couple.  7 berths with two separate cabins with a double in the saloon, separate heads.

"Caradon" is a nice example and is powered by a Mercedes 42hp marine diesel engine which was serviced in May 2018, 3 new batteries in 2017, Eberspacher warm air heating, H&C pressurised water.

Dimensions / General Info

The Westerly 33 was the bigger, beamier and heavier successor to the long-running Longbow/Renown range, and whilst also designed by Laurent Giles, and retaining the distinctive bow knuckle, has a more elegant coachroof and substantially more interior space, plus a much better standard of interior finish than the older models, with lots of solid wood trim.

The Westerly 33 was introduced in 1977, and over 200 were built before it was replaced by the very similar Discus in 1980, which used the same hull moulding, and continued in production until 1984. "Yachting Monthly" has described them as ".... substantial, safe and comfortable seaboats, popular with families for extended cruising".

"Caradon" was built and commissioned by Westerly Yachts Ltd (UK) in 1977 and completed and launched in 1978..
